SolarWinds<\/span><\/a> (NYSE:SWI), a leading provider of simple, powerful, secure observability and IT management software, announced its Next-Generation Build System received a CSO50 Award for IT Infrastructure Monitoring and Management.<\/p>\n

The Next-Generation Build System, a key component of the SolarWinds Secure by Design initiative, is a new secure software framework leveraging a unique parallel-build process where software is developed in multiple secure, duplicate, and ephemeral environments. Designed in response to the evolving threat landscape where highly sophisticated attackers are now capable of launching new types of unforeseeable attacks against both the government and private sector, the Next-Generation Build System provides an effective and novel defense for thwarting advanced supply chain cyberthreats.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur Secure by Design initiative was created to set a new standard in software supply chain security through innovative build systems and processes,\u201d said SolarWinds Chief Information Security Officer and VP of Security Tim Brown. \u201cCollaborating within the industry is the only way we can protect our shared cyberinfrastructure, and we are hopeful this new software development model can support other companies with a roadmap for more secure builds.\u201d<\/p>\n

The SolarWinds Next-Generation Build System has also received recognition from the 2023 BIG Innovation Awards and the Cloud Security Awards, with a judge stating the company\u2019s cutting-edge technology sets \u201ca new standard for excellence in the industry.\u201d The system also meets or exceeds the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST\u00ae) Secure Software Development Framework (SSDF) and Software Supply Chain Security Guidance for secure software development.<\/p>\n

SolarWinds has taken a leadership role in calling for increased information sharing across the industry and more robust public-private partnerships to combat increasingly sophisticated nation-state cyberattacks. To support collaboration among the public and private sectors, SolarWinds recently hosted a panel discussion in Washington, D.C., highlighting several key ways to help the industry stay secure.
